Established in 1995, the Shenandoah University TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program has been offered entirely online since 1999. It has granted hundreds of master's degrees and many certificates, and currently enrolls around 150 of both degree-seeking and certificate students. The TESOL program is part of the School of Education and Human Development, housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Founded in 1875, Shenandoah University is located in Winchester, Virginia (about 75 miles from Washington, DC). It is a private university with about 3,500 students in over 80 programs in 6 schools.
